For sale we have an extremely rare and very rarely seen vintage Angelus Datoluxe with a beautiful moonphase (smiling moon), German day-date window complication and blue tempered hands from circa 1948. The silver dial is in original condition and exhibits a wonderful patina, turning the dial a slight champagne color. The Angelus in-house cal. 256 movement offers various functions, including a sweep second hand, day/date adjustments using dedicated pushers at 08:30h and 09:30h respectively, and a moonphase display set by a pusher at 07:30h. The timepiece was previously owned by a prominent diplomat in Bern, Switzerland and has remained in the same family to-date. The watch is in very good overall condition, displaying some minor signs of use, consistent with normal gentle wear for a timepiece of this vintage.
Includes: a premium Bulang and Sons cognac brown/ tan leather strap and a complimenting original Bucherer stainless steel buckle.
